Kahanu Garden

On the rugged Hana coast, along the far eastern shores of the Hawaiian island of Maui, Kahanu Garden grows in splendid isolation, nestled in the one of the largest, untamed native hala (Pandanus) forests in the Islands.

Very cool place to stop and relax. Very cool seeing the old temple ruins. $20 entrance fee.

100% a waste of time. Will not remember in a year. Or maybe I will because it was that big of a disappointment. at $10 a person they are robbing you. It should be free or at least less than $5 per person. You pull in and follow a long and sketchy driveway to the 'parking lot'. It's not a parking lot. You literally just pull off the driveway and park in the grass. And based on all the tire marks, a lot of people were having trouble getting out with all the rain. You then proceed to walk around the edge of a rather large field and look at random plants. If you are a plant lover it still isn't worth it. Stop at the Gardens of Eden a few miles up. That was worth the money! (Same price. Way more impressive! ) The temple is pretty unimpressive. You cant get close enough to actually appreciate it. You just have a view of it from behind some rather large bushes. It looks like three massive flower beds built on top of each other. With no flowers. I don't think even my sister, an archeologist, would have appreciated it. If you want to pass yourself off as a historic site for the public. You need to have WAY more information on the site. And if you want to pass yourselves off as a garden. You need to have a much larger variety of plants. Total bust.
